Odette joined Aston University as a full-time member of staff in 2008 having previously worked as a Sessional Lecturer within the Finance Accounting and Law group in the Business School. After graduating from University College London she spent five years at Birmingham City Law School where she worked as a Lecturer in Law and chaired the Teaching and Learning Innovation Research Group. In 2010, in recognition of the transformative impact of her teaching on the student experience, she received an institutional award for innovation and inspiration. A year later, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to teaching and learning, she received the Aston Excellence Award for Outstanding Teacher of the Year.
In February 2013, Odette was a finalist for the Teaching Law with Technology Award. This award sponsored by the Association of Law Teachers, recognises outstanding use of technology in legal education. In March 2013, I was awarded the prestigious UK Law Teacher of the Year Award. This national award recognises outstanding contributions to legal education. Odette is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a member of SEDA the Staff and Educational Development Association she is also a member of BELMAS the British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society.
